Boys Varsity Track Start Season Strong with Win Over Last Year’s Division Champs

The Boys Varsity Track Team are off to a great start as they came out with their first win of the season against the 2018 Middlesex League Freedom Division Champions, the Wakefield Warriors, with a final score of 72-64.

Nine Burlington students secured their first place win of the season during the Mile, Shot Put, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Javelin, Discus, 110 meter Hurdles and 2 Mile.

Christian Boyadjiev finished the Mile in 4 minutes 37 seconds and 2 tenths of a second. Andrew Woods threw his way to victory in the Shot Put at 45 feet and 11 inches. Brandon Cascio finished the long jump with 19 feet and 4 inches. Kenan Wilson received first place for the Triple Jump with 41 feet and 9 inches, the High Jump with a leap of 6 feet and 110 Meter Hurdles. George Haddad completed the Javelin at 116 feet and 7 inches.

Other winners were Johnson Magada for his performance in the Discus with a throw of 112 feet and 7 inches and Rishabh Prakash at 10 minutes, 7 seconds 5 tenths of a second in the 2 Mile.

The Track team has been invited to an invitational on Saturday, April 6. Time and opponent information will be released in the coming days.
