Burlington Boys Varsity Basketball Fall Short

The Red Devils Varsity Basketball team had a heartbreaking loss in the Middlesex League Tournament on Wednesday, February 17 at Burlington High School.

Burlington finished the regular season at (8-2), the only losses they had were against the Stoneham Spartans and the Watertown Red Raiders. They clinched a number four spot in the Middlesex League Tournament and hosted the number fifth seed the Reading Rockets. The Red Devils were battling through the game until the very end, however they fell short by three points.

“It was a great season and we are thankful we got a season,” Head Coach Phil Conners said. “We just didn’t perform accurately today and it was disappointing ending and a disappointing for those guys to go out.”

Coach Conners is already looking towards next season.

“You know we have a bunch of young kids coming back and hopefully we can keep it going.”

Departing seniors from the team will be, Sean McLaughlin, Nick Virgin, Tyler Williams, Justin Bairos and Paul Deramo.

Good luck to all the seniors in the future. Burlington’s final record for the year was (8-3) and we look forward to seeing them on the court again in the 2021-2022 BHS Winter Season.
