The redeveloped site at the corner of Middlesex Turnpike and Wheeler Road, known as Burlington Gateway, is nearing completion and preparing to welcome its first tenants.
The site has been regraded to create a two-level, seven storefront building, with the lower level facing Wheeler Road and the upper level facing Middlesex Turnpike. The building features increased roof height to improve tenant signage visibility. The property also includes a tower just over 50 feet tall, intended to give the building more prominence from the Interstate 95 ramps and Middlesex Turnpike.
Kyuramen, Sunflower Organic Pizza, and Protego Dental are the first three tenants to be permitted for Burlington Gateway.
Kyuramen will offer a full-service dining experience, with a menu that includes ramen, rice burgers, tempura, dumplings, and more. The restaurant has more than 30 locations across the United States, including Massachusetts in Brookline and Winchester. The Burlington location is expected to seat about 80 guests and will offer both dine-in and takeout options.
Sunflower Organic Pizza will focus on fast-order dining, with an emphasis on organic dough, fresh vegetables, and high-quality toppings. The restaurant is planned as a takeout establishment, with seating for about 20 and no waitstaff.
According to the Protego Dentistry website, the practice is a family business. Dental Assistant Alka Patel is the mother of Head Dentist Dr. Serena Patel and her brother Raj Patel, who serves as CEO and Receptionist. The website also lists their four-year-old Bernedoodle named Koda as “Head of Security.”
The 1 Wheeler Road development is still nearing completion and is expected to receive overall occupancy approval in the coming weeks. Individual tenant occupancy permits will not be issued until the full site receives approval under its original site plan.
