Burlington High School Boys Ice Hockey

Here is where the Varsity and JV stand in the 2021 season for Boys Ice Hockey.

Varsity: The Burlington Boys Varsity Ice Hockey team traveled to Woburn to take on the Tanners in the Middlesex League Tournament on Wednesday, February 17. At the time Woburn was ranked number one seed in the playoffs while the Red Devils were ranked number eight seed. The team had a strong battle against the Tanners and in the end they pulled off an upset against the number one seed Tanners. The final in the matchup was 4-1 Burlington. The Red Devils then took on Winchester in the Semi Round of the ML tournament on Thursday, February 18. The boys lost by three points in a 4-1 defeat. Departing seniors are Brian Murray, Nolan Kelleher,Ray Magliozzi,Brian O’Neil,Jack Jay ,Dalton MacKinnon,Colin Browne ,Joe Trabucco and Sean Malone. Good luck to the seniors in the future.

Varsity: The Boys Varsity Ice Hockey team had a game against the Watertown Red Raiders on Saturday, February 13 at the Burlington Ice Palace. The team came out strong as they defeated the Red Raiders 8-0. Then then met them again on the 15th where they won by a score of 3-1. The team finished the regular season at (4-4-1) and are ranked number eight seed in the ML playoffs. They will face the number one seed Woburn Tanners at noon on Wednesday, February 17 in Woburn.

Varsity: Boys Varsity Hockey had a match up against the Red Raiders in Melrose for the second time of the season on Saturday, February 6. It was a very defensive battle for both teams as they ended the game in a 1-1 tie. Senior/Forward Brian O’Neill was the only Red Devil to score that evening. Senior/Goalie Nolan Kelleher stopped 26 saved goals that evening. The boys drop to (2-4-1) and will face the Watertown Red Raiders on Saturday, February 13 at the Burlington Ice Palace.

JV: Boys Junior Varsity Hockey are standing at (2-2) on the season and will have a home game on Wednesday, February 10 at the Burlington Ice Palace.

Varsity: Burlington Boys Varsity Hockey faced off against the Wakefield Warriors on Wednesday, January 27 at the Burlington Ice Palace. In the first half, Senior/Captain/Defenseman Colin Browne brought the Devils up 1 to nothing.During the early minutes of the second half, Wakefield’s Calvin Tryner ties it 1-1.Wakefield Matthew Moniz passed it to Ryan Rossini for a go ahead goal 2-1 Wakefield.The Warriors defense didn’t drop the ball when it came to the Burlington offense, as they stopped them from scoring another goal. 2-1 was the final Wakefield. The team drops to (2-3) on the season and will verse the Melrose Red Raiders on Wednesday, February 3.

JV: Boys Junior Varsity Hockey had a game against the Woburn Tanners on Saturday, January 30 at the Burlington Ice Palace. The team went into a shootout, however they lost by a score of 3-2 in the defeat. Burlington drops to (2-2) on the season.

Varsity: Boys Hockey had a matchup against Stoneham on January 18 at the Burlington Ice Palace. We have some highlights. Click Here. The boys traveled to Stoneham to take on the Spartans again on Wednesday, January 20th. The boys lost to them 3-1 like last time. Sophomore/Forward Nick Berglund was the only Devil to score that night.The team drops to (2-2) and will face the Wakefield Warriors on Wednesday, January 27th at the Burlington Ice Palace.

JV: Boys JV Hockey stands at (2-1) and will verse the Woburn Tanners on Saturday, January 30 at the Burlington Ice Palace.
