No one went home happy this weekend after Burlington Ice Hockey and Basketball teams traveled throughout the region for divisional and non-divisional matchups.

The girls varsity hockey team traveled to Watertown to take on the Red Raiders at the John Ryan Skating Arena. The Lady Devils found it difficult to stop the Red Raiders who scored six goals in the game. The Burlington girls, meanwhile, only managed to score two goals.

The Lady Devils are still looking for their first win of the season as they sit in last place at 0-11.

This Wednesday, they will have another road game and divisional matchup with Melrose.

Melrose is coming off a victory against the Wakefield Warriors last Saturday. Melrose scored four points while their defense allowed the Wakefield offense two points.

Melrose stands in the division with a record of 5-3-1.

The game will start on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. at Flynn Memorial Rink in Medford.

The Boys Varsity Hockey team traveled to the Pilgrim Skating Arena on Saturday night to take on the Hingham Harbormen. The Harbormen came into this game with a 7-2 record while Burlington stood at 5-4. Overall, it was a very close game, but the Red Devils lost by a goal as the Harbormen won this one by a score of 2-1.

The Harbormen move up in the standings ranking at 8-2, while Burlington saw their fifth loss of the season.

The Red Devils will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon at Kasabuski Rink in Saugus to take on the Melrose Red Raiders at 4:45 p.m.

Melrose is coming off their third tie of the season after they took on the Wakefield Warriors. Melrose stands in the division currently at 7-0-3.

The Burlington girls and boys basketball teams both traveled to Melrose for a divisional game against the Red Raiders on Friday night.

Unfortunately, the girls suffered their fourth loss of the season as they fell to Melrose by 13 points with a final score of 52-39.

The girls are currently have a record of 3-4 in the division. They will be back at home on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. to take on the Lexington Minutemen.

Lexington is coming off a win against the Reading Rockets on Friday night. The minutemen snuck by the Rockets in a buzzer beater finish with the final score of 52-50.

Lastly, the Boys also traveled to Melrose on Friday night in a difficult matchup that left them frustrated throughout the game. The Red Devils defense allowed 69 points to the Red Raiders, while the offense ended up scoring only 51 points in the loss.

The team didn’t have time to rest as they headed to Gloucester to take on the Fishermen on Sunday afternoon. The team’s defense ended up allowing 69 points to the Fishermen. The offense scored only 53 points in the defeat.

The Red Devils will have another road game against the Lexington Minutemen on Tuesday night at 5:30 p.m. The Red Devils are looking to bounce back after losing two back-to-back on the road.
