Before snow tires and all-wheel-drive vehicles, people converted to the sleigh to get around and transport goods while snow was on the ground. The Burlington Historical Commission is still in possession of an 1800s sleigh thought to be owned and used for business by the McIntire family who owned what is now the Grand View Farm.
