Burlington Housing Authority Seeking Part Time Maintenance Mechanic

The Burlington Housing Authority is seeking a Part Time Maintenance Mechanic for 18 hours a week. This position entails preparing units for occupancy, performing trash/recycling duties, maintaining the interior and exterior of the properties and other related duties as required. A valid driver’s license is required and must be able to use hand and power tools and have ability to follow oral and written instruction. Schedule is flexible but does require performing on call duties in rotation with maintenance staff.

Description:

  • Prepare unit for occupancy and perform general cleaning chores while the units are vacant.
  • Perform Trash/Recycling Duties
  • Maintain exterior of property 
  • Wash floors, walls and ceilings
  • General Unit maintenance
  • Perform snow removal
  • Report to the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Perform other related duties of this position as required.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform on call duties in rotation with maintenance staff
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Must possess valid driver’s license
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Ability to lift, load and unload heavy objects such as stove and refrigerators etc.
