Come out and meet Burlington and area first responders, check out some police and fire vehicles and learn about public safety.
The Burlington Police and Fire Department, along with partner Wegmans, are bringing back Safety Night after the normally annual event had to be cancelled last year due to the pandemic.
Burlington Community Safety Night will be held on Wednesday, August 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wegmans, 53 3rd Ave.
The free event is open to adults and children of all ages. Those who attend can get up close views of police cruisers, fire trucks, ambulances and equipment used by first responders. There will also be police and first responder K9s. The Department of Public Works will also provide equipment for the public to check out.
Wegmans will provide free hotdogs, snacks and beverages.
The event will be in honor of everyone who risked their health to keep the community going through the pandemic.
“This year they will be recognizing all front line workers who worked tirelessly during the COVID-19 Pandemic,” Fire Chief Michael Patterson said in a release. “This event is usually well attended by residents and neighbors of our community.”
