Chief Thomas Browne is pleased to welcome two new officers to the Burlington Police Department. Officer Alexa Gaudet and Officer Matthew Schipelliti graduated from the Massachusetts Police Training Committee (MPTC) Lynnfield Police Academy on February 28.
Officer Gaudet is originally from Long Island, NY, and was Class President at the Academy. She graduated from the State University of New York at Cortland with a Bachelor of Science and is the daughter of a retired New York City Police Homicide Detective.
Officer Schipelliti resides in Winchester and received the Leadership Award at the academy, which is awarded to the officer who demonstrates leadership through teamwork. He graduated from Suffolk University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and is the son of retired Burlington Police Sergeant Bernie Schipelliti.
“I want to welcome Officer Gaudet and Officer Schipelliti to the department,” said Chief Browne. “Both officers have shown dedication and professionalism throughout the academy, earning recognition for their commitment to excellence. Officer Gaudet and Officer Schipelliti come to our department with deep-rooted knowledge of what it takes to be a law enforcement officer, and I wish them both the best of luck in their careers.”
