Burlington Science Center Director Wendy Pavlicek Tyburcz is in the running to be “America’s Favorite Teacher”, and you can vote for her.
The winning teacher will be written about in Reader’s Digest, highlighting the educator’s influence on students and education. The winner will also win $25,000, a Hawaiian getaway and a virtual school assembly with Bill Nye the Science Guy.
Tuburcz is currently in the Top Five of her group. According to her profile, “I became a teacher to share my love and passion for our all things science! I wanted to inspire curiosity and critical thinking about the world around us. I wanted to connect with students/make meaningful relationships, build self confidence make a positive impact their lives. I could be a role model for students, help them navigate challenges and offer support when they need it.”
