Burlington Seeks Resident Input on Future of Town Government

The Government Review Committee is calling on residents to help guide Burlington forward by taking the Burlington Town Government Survey.

The Burlington Government Review Committee was established by the Select Board in May 2025 with a mission to ensure Burlington’s town government has an appropriate, effective, and accountable organizational structure for residents.

As part of that work, the committee has been tasked with creating a Town Charter, while also reviewing existing town bylaws and the town’s organizational structure.

Committee members are now looking to hear from residents about the current town government structure, as well as potential options for future changes.

Responses to the survey will help inform the committee’s recommendations for the creation of a new Town Charter, along with any recommendations for change.

According to the committee, the survey is intended to help ensure Burlington’s government reflects the needs and values of all residents.

The survey is open to Burlington residents and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. Responses are confidential. Answers will be reported as percentages of total responses, and some written responses may be quoted in reporting without any identifying information.

The Burlington Town Government Survey will remain available until May 25, 2026.

Residents can take the survey at burlington.org/govreview.
