Burlington residents this week may begin receiving phone calls letting them know that the town is switching to a new emergency notification service.
Beginning July 1, Burlington will be switching from CodeRed to RAVE, a Massachusetts-based system with the same services as the old one.
“This is the system that is used by town agencies to inform citizens in emergency situations, as well as for special events or DPW concerns,” said Burlington Police Chief Thomas Browne.
Residents and business owners will be able to go to a web portal and change or update their contact information and preferences. For those that can’t go online themselves, personnel at the Burlington Police Department will be able to help.
In additional to test calls this week, residents can expect more information on the town website and on social media, including contact information for anyone needing technical assistance.
