Celebrate Burlington to be Held on Saturday, August 6

Update

The fireworks originally scheduled for Saturday night have been postponed by the Parks & Recreation Department after consultation with the Burlington Fire Department. There were concerns that there was a risk of fire due to the dry conditions brought on by the drought facing much of the region.

It’s time to celebrate all things Burlington.

The Parks & Recreation Department is set to hold its annual Celebrate Burlington event on the Town Common on Saturday, August 6. The carnival portion of the day will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Common. That will be followed by a classic car show at Simonds Park from 5 to 7 p.m. There will then be live music on the Common from 7 to 9 p.m. followed by fireworks.

The carnival will feature a number of activities including bouncy houses, inflatable slides, games and challenges, miniature train rides, demonstrations and more. There will also be food trucks and vendors and a number of local organizations sharing promos and information. The BCAT van will be there for Green Screen Magic so make sure you swing by and say something to the community with a themed background of your choosing.

“Celebrate Burlington is a way for the Parks & Recreation Department to celebrate the residents of Burlington and have a fun-filled day on the Common,” Director Brendan Egan said.

Entry to the event and all activities are free. The only thing you will need money for is food.
