Burlington is experiencing a period of leadership change, with several key positions being filled. Jennifer Priest is the new Town Clerk, now that Amy Warfield has officially retired after a long tenure. John Danizio has also taken over as Town Administrator following Paul Sagarino’s departure, leaving the Assistant Town Administrator role open. At the recent Select Board meeting, Danizio recommended Patrick Lawlor, Andover’s Chief Administrative & Financial Officer, as Burlington’s new Assistant Town Administrator and Finance Director. Both Danizio and the board praised Lawlor for his extensive experience in local government and his deep understanding of municipal operations.
After the board unanimously approved his appointment, Lawlor expressed his excitement, saying, “My whole career I’ve been in municipal government for the last eight years. I can think of no better chapter than the one I’m about to embark on. I’m very excited and I look forward to serving.”
The leadership changes also extend to other departments. Christine Shruhan, Director of Youth and Family Services, and Gary Gianino, Treasurer/Tax Collector, are both retiring after many years of dedicated service. The Select Board expressed gratitude for their contributions.
David Lankford, who has been with the department since January 2022, will take over as the new Director of Youth and Family Services. Having started as a clinician and later promoted to Clinical Supervisor, Lankford brings a wealth of experience from his work at Riverside Community Care.
In the Treasurer/Tax Collector’s office, Ana Maria DaRosa, who joined in 2023 as the Deputy Treasurer Collector, has now been promoted to Treasurer/Collector. DaRosa, a certified Treasurer working towards her Collector certification, holds a Bachelor’s in Mathematics and an MBA from Framingham State University. Before joining Burlington, she worked in Littleton and Andover’s Treasurer departments.
All these leadership changes will take effect in June.
