Burlington’s Class of 2024 has tossed their caps into the air and marked their graduation, but we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge some of the recipients of scholarships that make the next chapters of their lives just a little easier:
This year’s Scholarship Night was held the evening of May 30th in the Fogelberg Performing Arts Center. Some of the notable awards and recipients from the Class of 2024 are listed below.
- Dillan Agarwalla was the recipient of the $1,000 BCSF Al Fay Memorial Scholarship. Agarwalla plans to attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the fall to study Mechanical Engineering.
- Rishab Bagmar was awarded a $250 Lahey Clinic Healthcare Scholarship. Bagmar plans to attend American University in the fall to study Political Science. Shalia Kahn, who is attending UMass Amherst in the fall to study Biology, was also awarded a Scholarship of $1,250 from Lahey Clinic.
- Julie Boldezar and Emerson Waisnor were both recipients of the $1,000 Burlington Performing Arts Parents Association Scholarship. Boldezar plans to study Voice Performance at the Berkley College in the fall. Waisnor plans to study Nursing at Saint Anslem College.
- Aleczander Fulciniti received a $3,600 Adopt-A-Class Scholarship, and plans to attend Hofstra University in the fall, studying Music.
- Colin Irwin and Nicholas Magnerelli each received $5,000 scholarships from Millipore Sigma. Irwin plans to attend Maryland University in the fall to study Mechanical Engineering. Magnerelli plans to attend Northeastern University in the fall to study Chemistry.
- Shreya Iyer, who plans to study Electrical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, received a $20,000 Equitable Excellence Scholarship, was the recipient of the Stamps President Award, which covers a full ride to Georgia Tech, with an additional $12,000 dedicated other enrichment activities, attending conferences, research, and more.
- BCAT’s own sports reporter, Anthony Matos, who plans to attend Dean College for Sports Broadcasting, was the recipient of the $1000 BCSF Ernie DiMartinis Memorial Scholarship.
- Theresa Schultz, who plans to attend Hofstra University for Stage Management, was the recipient of the $1000 Leo Abramaov Legacy Award.
Since the inception of the Burlington Scholarship Program in 1988, over 12,000 awards have been gifted to graduating seniors, totaling approximately $10,450,581. These awards are made possible through the combined efforts of the Burlington High School Counseling Department, and the Burlington Community Scholarship Foundation (BCSF). These are just some of the 320 Awards, from 147 Donors, coming in at $332,000, that were received by the Class of 2024 on Scholarship Night.
