Commemorate Burlington’s Birthday with Historical Society

This Monday marked the Town of Burlington’s 223rd birthday. Those looking to learn more on our town’s history are encouraged to attend a special event this Thursday.

On March 3rd, the Burlington Historical Society will be having their first meeting back after an extended hiatus. Part of the meeting will include a special presentation by Rob Costa on the town’s history. Per the Historical Society’s Facebook page, “Rob, a recently retired and long-time History teacher at Burlington High School, is also a noted author. Rob Costa graduated BHS, then earned his B.A. in History from UMASS, and M.A.T. History from Salem State. Rob Costa will speak of places, people and events leading to incorporation on February 28, 1799. We can look forward to seeing images of our area, historic houses, barns and farms before the incorporation.”

Meetings of the Burlington Historical Society are held in the Human Resource Building at 61 Center Street. All are welcome to attend free of charge and the facility is handicap accessible. Thursday’s meeting begins at 7:00 pm. Doors open at 6:30 pm.
