Due to High Demand Burlington Parks & Recreation Temporarily Cease Online Registration

Perhaps a sign of the times when everyone is looking for recreational activities, the Burlington Parks & Recreation Department is having an issue with their online registration.

“Due to our technical difficulties with summer registration it has been determined that we need to switch servers to allow us to handle the volume of traffic,” they said in a post on Facebook. “We will be shutting down our registration system at 10:30 am today in order to migrate to a new server.  Registration will reopen on Wednesday, May 12th at 5 p.m. – we will have staff available to take phone calls until 7 p.m. on this day.”

In the meantime, they know a lot of people have been put on a waitlist for their preferred programs and are working to be able to open up additional sections for programs that currently have a wait list.

“All registrations that have been completed will be honored – if you received your receipt you are registered for the program,” they said of anyone already registered. “We know how frustrating this is for everyone trying to enroll and cannot say enough how sorry we are for the inconvenience this is causing everyone.”

Visit their online registration form starting this Wednesday to sign up for your preferred programs.
