Five Burlington High School students have been selected to participate in the MMEA Northeast Senior District Music Festival this year, following a competitive audition process that included hundreds of students from schools across northeastern Massachusetts. The festival is organized by the Massachusetts Music Educators Association, which supports music education programs across the state.
The selected students represent both chorus and orchestra and were chosen based on their musical skill and performance at auditions held earlier this season.
The students selected are Antonio Casarano, who will perform with the orchestra on cello; Aarushi Dayma, chorus soprano; Tuyen Nguyen, chorus alto; Kai Gong, chorus tenor; and Arran Fitzgerald, chorus bass.
The students will perform in concerts on Saturday at Arlington High School. The Band and Orchestra concert is scheduled for 10 a.m., followed by the Jazz Band and Chorus concert at noon.
Selection to the Senior District Music Festival recognizes the students’ dedication, talent, and hard work throughout the audition process.
