Girls and Boys Tennis Finish Final Regular Season Meets of 2026

The girls and boys tennis teams closed out their regular season meets last week with mixed results for both.

Boys tennis finished the regular season at 10 and 9 after two 5-0 wins at home against Stoneham and Central Catholic and a 4-2 win at Wilmington.

Stoneham: 

Singles:
Ridhaan Ayyagari won 6-1 and 6-0.
Arnav Jhumat won 6-2 and 6-1.
Nathan Melanson won 6-0 in both sets.

Doubles:
Casey Shannon/Matheus Torres won 6-3 and 6-2.
Austin Li/Carter Briscoe went into three sets winning the first and third 6-4 and 1-0, respectively and losing 4-6 in the second set.

Wilmington:

Singles:
Ayyagari won 7-5 and 6-3 in the second and third set, but lost the first set 3-6.
Jhumat won his first and third sets 7-5 and 7-6 respectively, but lost in the second set 3-6.
Melanson won his first and third set both 6-3, but lost 7-5 in the second set.

Doubles:
Shannon/Torres won both of their sets 6-4 and 6-2, while Li/Briscoe lost both of their sets 6-0 and 6-2.

Central Catholic:

Singles:
Ayyagari won in both sets 6-1 and 6-2.
Jhumat won both of his matches 6-2 and 6-1.
Melanson won both 6-0 and 6-2.

Doubles:
Shannon/Torres won 6-4,6-3
Li/Briscoe won 7-5, 6-2.

Girls Tennis defeated the Stoneham Spartans on the road 5-0 last week, before losing to the Bedford Buccaneers 0-5 at home last Wednesday finishing the regular season at 5 and 12.Here were the results from the meet against Stoneham. 

Stoneham:

Singles:
Therese Kosinski won 6-2 and 6-3.
Shreeya Patel won 6-0 in both sets.
Cecelia Fraczek won 6-0 and 6-1.

Doubles:
Samira Patel/Nishtha Prajapati won 6-2 and 6-4.
Rini Rupesh/Kanika Agarwala won 6-1 in both sets.
