Red Devil Winter Sports: Girls hockey and boys basketball both starts the season at (2-0), Track teams get wins in first meets over Middlesex League Rival

Red Devil wrestling: (1-3)

Dec. 14 Home: Burlington 48, Malden Catholic 12 
The Red Devils competed in their second meet of the season against Malden Catholic. Click here for the full results. The Red Devils will have an away meet against the Watertown Red Raiders on Dec. 21.

Red Devil hockey:

Girls: (3-0)

Dec. 14 Away: Burlington 4, Winchester 1
Goals in the game were scored by sophomores Mary Kate Hayes, Caitlyn Tremblay, Lexi McKinnon and eighth grader Emma Steiner to a win over Winchester High School, 4-1, at O’Brien Ice Rink.

Dec. 17 Home: Burlington 4, Reading 1
This is not a typo as Burlington had the exact same result to the Reading Rockets. Goals in the game were scored by juniors Shea McDonald, Anna Viglione, sophomore Temblay and Steiner in a one-sided affair over the Reading Rockets, 4-1, at Burbank Ice Arena. The girls will have their home opener on Dec. 21. against the Lexington Minutemen at the Burlington Ice Palace.

Boys: (0-2)

Dec. 14 Away: Burlington 1, Winchester 2
Senior Dillon O’Reilly had the lone goal for the Red Devils in the loss over Winchester High School, 2-1, at O’Brien Ice Rink.

Dec. 17 Away: Burlington 0, Reading 3
It was a tough loss for Burlington at the Burbank Ice Rink Saturday night, as they were shutout by the Rockets. The Red Devils will have their home opener on Dec. 28 against the Belmont Marauders at the Burlington Ice Palace.

Girls: (0-2)

Dec. 13 Away: Burlington 43, Winchester 56
Lady Devils lost by 13 points in the season opener against Winchester High School.

Dec. 16 Away: Burlington 48, Stoneham 53
Burlington had an unfortunate 5-point loss against the Spartans in their second game of the season. Burlington has the home opener tonight against the (1-1) Reading Rockets at 6 p.m.

Boys: (2-0)

Dec. 13 Home: Burlington 54, Winchester 31
Burlington opened the season against Winchester High School to start off the 2022-2023 season. Click here for the full story.

Dec. 16 Away: Burlington 86, Stoneham 71
The Red Devils prevail with a win at Stoneham High School as they move to (2-0) on the season. Scorers from the game were juniors Cedric Rodriguez with 33 points, Jaden Brehm with 13 points, James Ellis with 11 points, and seniors Eric Sekyaya with 18 points and Ben Poehler with 11 points.

Indoor Track:
Both of the indoor track teams secured a win against Stoneham in their season openers. Both teams will have another meet on Dec. 22 against the Watertown Red Raiders in Boston.

Dec.15 Home: Burlington 87, Melrose 82
Red Devil swimming competed against the Melrose Red Raiders to open the regular season. Burlington will have another home meet against the Lexington Minutemen on Dec. 22 at Shawsheen.

Gymnastics:

Girls: (0-0) 
The Lady Devils gymnastics season will kick off on Jan. 4 against the Reading Rockets at the Reading Gymnastics Academy.

Boys: (0-0)
Red Devil gymnastics will have the annual alumni meet on Dec. 23 inside of the Burlington High School rubber gym at 6 p.m. Come out and show your support for the past and present athletes who are competing.
