Golf Simulator Bar Coming To Shoppes At Simonds Park

The operators of the Waltham-based golf simulator Birdie Bar are planning a second location for The Shoppes at Simonds Park, bringing entertainment and a full bar to the residential side of Burlington.

The venue will feature bays for playing golf, and will be suitable for small groups, birthdays or corporate events. The menu will be largely pub food.

“I love the idea that you’re bringing entertainment to this side of town, the residential side,” said Select Board Member Jim Tigges. “A lot of the fun stuff is over by the mall, the turnpike. A couple residents have heard about this and more than one was like, ‘Oh that’s a great fit for that location.’ I couldn’t agree more.”

“Since that plaza opened we’ve been looking for things to go into it that are going to help this side of the town,” said Member Nick Priest. “We have so much great stuff going on across town on Burlington Mall Road, but most of our residents live over this way. Not that it’s a long drive across town, but every once in a while you don’t want to go where half the region is coming for dinner or entertainment.”

The plaza has become a destination for dining and recreation lately: Goodnight Johnny’s restaurant and music venue, which opened earlier this year.

Brothers Joe Shea, president of Birdie Bar parent company Shea Golf LLC, and Rob Shea, the manager of record, expect Birdie Bar to open in mid-January of 2025.
