The Town of Burlington is pleased to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Fox Hill Elementary School. Members of the School Building Committee, the Massachusetts School Building Authority, town officials, students, and faculty are expected to attend as the community celebrates this important milestone.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at the Fox Hill Road site, where the new school will be constructed.
The ceremony will include opening remarks from Superintendent of Schools Dr. Eric Conti, followed by a project overview from School Building Committee Chair Melissa Massardo. Additional remarks are expected from school leadership and state and local officials, before the ceremonial groundbreaking and photo opportunity.
Officials note that there will be no on-site parking available for the ceremony. Attendees are asked to be mindful of neighborhood streets and nearby residents when parking.
Please note that due to site preparation and construction activities, all nature trails leading to the Fox Hill Elementary School will be closed at the trail head from April 10, 2026, until the end of construction in November 2028.
Construction activity is also underway. From April 13 through April 24, crews are expected to begin site demolition and grading work, including changes to the existing playground area to allow for temporary parking.
