Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued Ahead of Monday Morning Commute

Some light snow, mixed with cold temperatures, could have an impact on Monday morning’s commute.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for most of Massachusetts, including Middlesex County, for Monday. It states light snow is expected in the early morning through mid-morning. Only an inch or so is expected but the accumulation may cause slippery conditions on Monday morning.

“Snow will be light with accumulations of a coating to 1 inch,” the NWS states. “However, temperatures well below freezing will allow snow to stick immediately to roadways and impact the morning rush hour. Motorists traveling Monday morning should be prepared for slippery travel and allow extra time to reach their destination.”

The Hazardous Weather Outlook also states that the light snow is expected to end by late morning but may stick around into the afternoon. There is also a chance of some freezing drizzle in some locations.
