Help a BHS Teen with Her Senior Project Blood Drive

Lindsay Bullock, a senior at Burlington High School, is making one of her senior projects count.

Bullock, 17, is working with the Red Cross to put on a blood drive on Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be held at Grand View Farm, 55 Center St., in Burlington.

Her goal is to address the blood shortage in the U.S., she said.

”I’ve always wanted to donate blood since I was little, like 10,” she said. “I’ve tried but didn’t have enough iron in my blood.”

But that’s not going to stop her from trying again at the event. She says the cause is too important not to try.

“I’ve known people who’ve needed blood and they didn’t have access to it,” she said. “I want to make sure if they need blood that they can get access to it.”

Bullock’s goal with the Red Cross is to raise 30 units of blood.

Bullock, a member of the Red Devil swim team who specializes in the breaststroke, hopes to go into nursing once she graduates.
