Jennie Cataldo of the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is running the 2025 Boston Marathon in an effort to raise awareness for organ donation and the incredible work being done by the Roger L. Jenkins Transplant Institute at Lahey. Cataldo is a health professional with more than 13 years in patient-centered care and clinical research. With a background as a registered dietitian, she joined Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in 2023 as the transplant outreach program manager. She sees every day how organ donation saves lives and is passionate about helping patients achieve great health outcomes through compassionate care and tailored treatment.
Jennie’s message is especially timely given April is Donate Life Month.
She says she is inspired by “the strength of the patients who face serious illness with unmatched resilience and determination.”
She is running Boston in hopes of supporting the patients, providers and staff who are part of the life-saving community within the Transplant Institute.
Jennie ran a series of marathons about a decade ago including Philadelphia in 2015 and 2017 and Chicago in 2016. Now 38, she’s ready to tackle Boston, driven by the hope, strength and generosity of all those who are part of the transplant journey. You will find Jennie’s fundraising page here.
The funds Jennie is raising will support Lahey Hospital & Medical Center’s mission of providing high-quality health care services to those in need. Jennie is among Team BILH’s 81 runners, including 16 staff members, representing member organizations across BILH who are raising funds for critical priorities at each institution.
