Let’s Talk About It: A Mental Health Book Discussion Group – Thursday, April 15 at 6:30pm

Crime Lab Case Files: True Crime Tales with Forensic Scientist Paul Zambella – Thursday, April 15 at 7pm

Join Paul Zambella as he discusses some of the most infamous cases in which he was involved as a forensic scientist at the Massachusetts State Police Crime Lab. He will focus on the forensic evidence and how it provided information which was instrumental in assisting prosecutors to secure the conviction of each suspect.

Paul Zambella was employed as a Forensic Scientist at the State Police Crime Lab for 36 years. His functions in the lab included crime scene investigator, criminalist, drug analyst, serologist and toxicologist. He participated in more than 500 crime scene investigations, examined thousands of physical evidence items and testified in more than 350 criminal trials.  Due to the nature of the subject matter, this presentation is recommended for people of high school age and older. For more information and to register, visit our Programs calendar at www.burlingtonpubliclibrary.org 

Youth Services Programs

This week we have our three virtual storytimes as well as a special bilingual storytime with Miss Allison and a pajama storytime with Miss Mary. Story and Art: Zoom and Activity Kit – Thursday, April 15th at 4pm

Join Miss Amanda for a story and an art project based on the story, for grades PreK – 3. Signups for this event will begin on Thursday, April 8th at 9am. Art supplies can be picked up on Wednesday, April 14th at curbside pickup (10:15am-7pm).  The event it is limited to 4 signups per person.

This program is made possible through CARES Act funding to Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services as administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

Yarn Owl Craft Kit – Friday, April 16th 

Make some adorable owls out of yarn and other materials, for grades PreK-5. Signups will begin on Friday, April 9th at 8am. Kits will be available at curbside pickup on Friday, April 16th from 10:15am to 5:30pm. The event it is limited to 4 signups per person.

Social Justice Service Group – Saturday, April 17th at 6:30pm

Join Nicole for a meeting of a Social Justice Group, for students in grade 9 – 12. Meet other teens and discuss issues important to you and plan future activities. Earn community service hours for attending. This month we’ll be joining Haverhill as they host author Nic Stone! This club is a joint event held by YA Librarians at Burlington Public Library, Stevens Memorial Library, Tewksbury Public Library, and Wilmington Memorial Library.

Cuddle in with your teddies and blankets for PJ Storytime. Enjoy stories, songs and goodnights before bed.

Bilingual Storytime

Friday, April 16th at 10:30 am 

Join Miss Allison for some fun cultural Spanish/English stories and songs! 

Prior knowledge of Spanish is not required. This storytime is geared towards children interested in learning Spanish, but also appropriate for native Spanish speakers. This event will be streamed on the Library’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/BurlPL.
