Latest Library News: Summer Reading Kickoff, Effects of Climate Change in Massachusetts

Library Closed – June 19-20, 2022
The library will be closed June 19-20 to observe the Juneteenth holiday.  We will reopen on Tuesday, June 21 at 10am.

(In Person) Effects of Climate Change in Massachusetts– Thursday, June 23 at 7:30pm
We’ve all heard about climate change, but what is happening to the flora and fauna in Massachusetts? Have you noticed different birds in your neighborhood? Are plants blooming earlier? Are deciduous trees losing their leaves later? Tia Pinney, Mass Audubon Teacher Naturalist and Ecological expert, will explain some of the changes in our environment due to climate change and how these changes affect the wildlife that lives in Massachusetts.

Story & Art at the Village at the Burlington Mall – Wednesday, June 22nd at 8:30am
Join Miss Amanda at the Village at Burlington Mall for art classes outside.  This week we will read The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds and make dot art, no registration required.

Sensory Friendly Summer Reading Kickoff with Mulan and Mirabel – Friday, June 24th at 10:30am
Join us for a sensory-friendly option for our Summer Reading Kickoff!  Taking place from 10:30-11am, crafts and other activities will be available and children can meet Mulan and Mirabel.  Registration begins on June 17.

Summer Reading Kickoff with Mulan and Mirabel – Friday, June 24th at 11am
Celebrate the beginning of Summer Reading with “Passport to Adventure”.  Crafts and other activities will be available, and children can meet Mulan and Mirabel. Signup for the library’s Reading Program as well. Registration begins on June 17.

Teen Summer Reading Kickoff – Friday, June 24th at 3pm
Join Jenna and Nicole for a summer reading kickoff event. Sign up, play emoji trivia, unwrap a candy ball and more! Registration required. Open to students entering 6th – 12th grade.
