Letter to the Editor: All Education is Instrumental

The following is a letter to the editor and does not necessarily reflect the opinion of BNEWS.

Letter To The Editor:
In support of Aaron Reeves for School Committee

My family has been lucky enough to know his whole family since they moved to town. Aaron brings a different perspective and approach to most things. He and his wife are raising 6 incredible children, all of whom have special talents, are smart, can hold a nice conversation (even the littlest one), are witty and most importantly are kind. These kids are intelligent and can make smart decisions……
and they are homeschooled!

Aaron and his wife Katie have followed a curriculum that is on par or superior to what is happening in the Burlington public schools. Their family has a child in the age range of six different grades. SIX. They spend hours planning their kids’ curriculum and Aaron wants to bring his experience as a parent and as a son of a former teacher and now a school principal, to the school committee, with the hopes of trying to restore some of the core BPS fundamentals.

Aaron is also an incredibly talented musician, sound engineer, and carpenter. All things that are constantly asked for in the budget, from new technology in the high school auditorium to instruments, uniforms and construction agreements. Aaron is a professional, a project manager, a listener, and a man of his word. All the qualities needed to get these schools back on track in teaching kids real world experience.

I encourage everyone to vote for Aaron Reeves for School Committee in the April 11. election. Let’s do right by our kids because EVERY student matters and deserves the best!
