Local Nonprofits To Support This Holiday Season

With the season of giving upon us, we know you’re looking for places in Burlington to support with your donations. Luckily, the town is teeming with organizations you can support. 

 

People Helping People

This nonprofit is best known for running Burlington’s Food Pantry, but they also offer holiday programming like the Thanksgiving In-Gathering and the Wish Tree, and they run the Victory Garden behind the Francis Wyman Elementary School. Eighty-six percent of donations go directly to support Burlington residents in urgent financial situation. 

 

Wee Care Burlington 

Wee Care is all about helping parents and caretakers provide basic needs for children, with grace and dignity. They offer children’s clothing and shoes, toys and books, as well as diapers and other baby essentials. 

 

The Mama Bear Effect

The Mama Bear Effect’s mission is to change the way people think, talk and respond to child sexual abuse, through offering resources and events. 

 

Helpis

Helpis Help Me Help Someone is a social network that promotes kindness and encourages charitable deeds. They often mobilize to meet immediate needs in the community as they arise. 

 

Womenade

Womenade is a nonprofit dedicated to helping families in need. They organize three to six events each year to raise funds for a specific person or family, whether it be due to economic hardship, illness, injury, or a death in the family. 

 

Rotary Club of Burlington

The Rotary club creates a welcome, inclusive environment to develop service-minded individuals. Their projects include food drives, meal distribution, community lunches, and more.
