Local Realtor and People Helping People Holding Backpack Drive for Students in Need

Now is the time to help Burlington students in need ready to get back to school after a year of pandemic learning this September.

Realtor Shannon Walsh Jenkins, in partnership with People Helping People, is once again holding a backpack drive for Burlington students this year.

“Guys, we had HUGE success with the backpack drive last year,” she wrote on Facebook. “Please consider donating a new backpack to this wonderful cause again this year. I have partnered again with The People Helping People of Burlington and The Burlington Food Pantry to collect new backpacks for families in town who are in need. These programs provide essential supplies to local families in need.”

Anyone who wants to help should adhere to these guidelines:

  • The backpacks must be brand new
  • They will need an array of sizes for ages K-12. Childrens, youth and adult (for the older children)for males and females.
  • They are aiming to have all of the backpacks collected by early-mid August to prepare for the school year.

“Thank you all again and if you have not yet, please consider donating to this wonderful cause,” Jenkins wrote.

Anyone looking to donate can reach out to Jenkins at 781-254-5637 or shannonjenkins@remax.net
