The Town of Burlington is looking for some fresh talent.
According to the Human Resources page on the town website, there are a number of employment opportunities with the municipality.
Perhaps most prominently among the posted full time positions is that the town is seeking a new Supervising Nurse for the Board of Health.
“Reporting to the Director of Public Health, the Supervising Nurse is responsible for the oversight of the Board of Health’s public health nursing functions,” the listing states. :Essential functions include, but are not limited to: creating, promoting, implementing, and evaluating of public health clinics and educational programs; conducting home health visits; participating in emergency preparedness initiatives as required by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health; maintaining an inventory of medical supplies; administering immunizations; assisting in preparation of the departmental budget; supervising nursing department staff, and coordinating on-call staffing; and other duties which relate to public health nursing.”
Another full time position currently open is Planner and Development Coordinator with the Planning Department.
According to the listing, examples of work include:
- Planner/Development Coordinator will lead post-approval project management of projects through construction.
- Assists the Senior Planner with project permitting and approvals
- Reviews site plans and subdivision plans for compliance with municipal regulations.
- Performs site inspections to certify compliance with approved plans.
- Assists the Senior Planner in management of GIS data and maps.
- Responds to and investigates resident and abutter complaints.
- Maintains and utilizes land use information using the Town’s various computer technologies.
- Assists in Grant proposals
- Provides technical assistance to Town staff, Boards, Committees, and the public.
- Assists in interdepartmental Development Application Review meeting coordination.
- Provides customer service and responds to office inquiries related to planning, zoning and projects under review.
There are also full time positions available in the Parks & Recreation Department and the Department of Public Works.
