National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

The drug overdose epidemic in the United States is a clear and present public health and a national security threat according to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). In an effort to fight this danger to public safety the Burlington Police Department will be participating in the DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

On Saturday, October 29th from 10am to 2pm the Burlington Police will have a table set up at Wegmans at 53 Third Ave. in Burlington to accept people’s unneeded medications as a measure of preventing medication misuse and possible opioid addiction.

The Burlington Police and DEA endeavor to help make Burlington safer and healthier by reducing overdoses and overdose related deaths. To seek substance abuse treatment and learn more about the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day visit the DEA’s Take Back Day website.
