A beloved family woman and long-time Burlington Girl Scout leader has passed away after a battle with cancer.

Claudia Olga Points, a Marketing Analyst and Girl Scout leader passed away after a 5-month battle with cancer on Monday morning, May 17, 2021, her obituary from Sullivan Funeral Home states. She was 50 years old.

Claudia was born in Boston and grew up in West Roxbury. She was a graduate of Boston Latin Academy. She then earned her bachelor’s degree in Marketing at Northeastern University and her master’s in business administration from Bentley University. She was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority at Northeastern and NSHMBA at Bentley. She had worked for Zeta Global as a marketing analyst for the past ten years. She had recently been promoted to Analytics Manager at Zeta. She enjoyed her career, working with her clients, and with her coworkers.

“Claudia was a beacon of light and joy,” her obituary reads. “When she was young, she wanted to see the world, take adventures, and do good.”

Claudia had a love of travel. Growing up, she visited her parent’s homeland of Chile many times, including a six-month work abroad in Chile. She immersed herself in the culture and took every opportunity to explore the country and neighboring countries as well. Just before the COVID pandemic, she returned to Chile with her husband, daughter, and mother for a family reunion.

She also has vacationed in Spain, France, and England over the years. She enjoyed camping and has stayed at campgrounds all over New York, New Hampshire, Maine, and Western Massachusetts. She enjoyed white water rafting and skiing with family and friends. Summer vacations were often spent at the family cottage in Dennisport.

She belonged to a book club called “La Sucias” with her girlfriends. She wanted to give her daughter a childhood that was well rounded, filled with experiences, and fun.

Claudia was the Girl Scout leader of Troop 72030 for many years and took on the challenging task of being the “Cookie Mom” in charge of Burlington’s Girl Scout Cookie sales.

Claudia and her husband John were married in 2008 and settled in Burlington in 2009. It is true that opposites do attract; Claudia was the organized, business oriented, and planner in the household and John was the artistic, creative, and whimsical side of the couple. He was a founder and composer of the band “Uncle Buzz” where he sang and played several instruments. The combination helped each to move from their comfort zones, be more diverse, and created numerous circles of friends with a huge range of interests. The combination also created a diverse upbringing for their daughter, Lizzy.

“Claudia will be remembered for so many things including being a doer, a leader, bubbly, adventurous, fun, kind and knowledgeable,” her obituary reads. “She will also be remembered for being a great daughter, wife, and mother, and most importantly someone who loved everyone with her whole being.”
