Project 351 Toy Drive

Project 351 is an independent nonprofit organization for youth-led service in each of Massachusetts’ 351 communities. Project 351 Ambassadors are selected from middle schools all over the Commonwealth. Maddie Spreadbury was named the 2020-2021 Ambassador at Marshall Simond Middle School, now a Burlington High Sophomore, she is spearheading this year’s toy drive as a Project 351 alumni endeavor.

“So alumni will run the toy drive while Ambassadors do the food drive,” said Spreadbury.

Spreadbury explained that this year they are partnering with the New England Patriots and WBZ-TV to help provide toys for Debbie’s Treasure Chest, an organization out of Lawrence that aids and supports disadvantaged and at-risk families in the Merrimack Valley.

Donations being sought:

  • Educational toys (for infants and toddlers)
  • Sports equipment (footballs, soccer balls, etc.)
  • Board games
  • Headphones
  • Dolls, action figures and stuffed animals
  • Anything for teenagers (hooded sweatshirts, etc)

“On December 17th, a week after the drive is finished I will help other people in my region to bring the toys to Debbie’s Treasure Chest,” Spreadbury said.

Donation bins are located at Burlington High School and Marshall Simonds Middle School. If you’re unable to make it to a donation bin there is an Amazon Wish List.

“It’s a great opportunity to help others. I know there’s a lot of other toy drives out there during the holiday season but people should definitely consider donating to us,” said Spreadbury.
