Red Devil Fall Sports: Girls Volleyball Streak Continues, Football Loses Close Game on the Road

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL REMAINS UNDEFEATED
Lady Devils Volleyball are 4-0 overall this season after a 3-2 win over the Lexington Minutemen on Sept. 13. The ladies will be in Stoneham to face the Spartans on Sept. 19.

RED DEVIL FOOTBALL FALLS SHORT OF WIN IN WOBURN
Red Devil Football 1-1 overall came up short against Woburn, 16-14, as the Tanners’ special teams blocked a field goal kick from Burlington in the final seconds of the game.  For more details click here. You can check out the game in its entirety here. 

GIRLS SOCCER GET FIVE GOALS IN WIN OVER READING
Lady Devils Soccer 1-2 overall got their first win of the season over the Reading Rockets, 5-1, on Sept. 12. Goals in the game were made by, senior Shea McDonald with two, one from junior Lacey Lauder, another senior Anna Viglione and the final goal was made by sophomore Briana Thomas. Thomas scored the lone goal in the 2-1 loss against the Lexington Minutemen on Sept. 14.

The team will travel to Stoneham High School on Sept. 19.

BOYS SOCCER REMAIN SCORELESS ON OFFENSE
The Red Devils Soccer team 0-3 overall were shutout in back to back losses against Reading Memorial, 0-3 on Sept. 12. and in Lexington, 0-5 on Sept. 14.
Burlington will look to score its first goal on offense as they host Stoneham High on Sept. 19.

FIELD HOCKEY SCORE FIRST POINTS OF THE SEASON
Lady Devils Field Hockey 1-3 overall scored offensively for the first time this season in Stoneham on Sept. 14. Burlington won in shutout fashion, 2-0, goals in the win were made by senior captain Mia Lauder and sophomore Sloane Wilson.

The ladies returns to Varsity Field on Sept. 19. where they will host the Watertown Red Raiders.

The Lady Devils Cross Country team 0-1 overall lost 47-16 against Winchester on Sept. 14. Five athlete from the team competed, here were the results of the meet

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY FALL IN OPENER
The Red Devils Cross Country team 0-1 overall opened the season with  a 17-40 loss against Winchester on Sept. 13. Ten athletes from the team competed in the race, here were the results of the meet. Here were the results of the meet.

BOYS GOLF HAVE BACK TO BACK LOSES
Red Devil Golf 0-3 overall lost by five, 33.5 to 38.5 in Watertown on Sept. 12 at the Oakley Country Club. Burlington lost another to Belmont on Sept. 15. 30-42.
The Devils match against Shawsheen has been postponed to Sept. 27.  Burlington will compete at the Meadow Brook Golf Course in Reading on Sept. 19.

GIRLS SWIMMING WINS FIRST MEET
The Woburn and Burlington combined swim team 1-1 overall had a one-sided win over Melrose, 92-58, on Sept. 13. at the Woburn Boys’ and Girls’ Club.
