RED DEVIL FOOTBALL COMPETES WITH WAYLAND IN FIRST ROUND OF PLAYOFFS

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL ENDS IN SECOND ROUND
The Lady Devils Volleyball team’s season came to an end after a 3-0 loss to Oliver Ames in the sweet sixteen round of the playoffs. Five seniors, Grace Seaman, Karina Boyadjiev, Emily Andriolo, Elise Kovbasa and Maddie Spreadbury, will be departing from the team this spring.
BURLINGTON/WOBURN SWIM COMPETE IN STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
Ryley McCarthy, Ava Eldridge, Meghan Sheehy, Alex Mahon, Sadie Floyd and Kayleigh McCarthy all competed in the MIAA State Championship meet over the weekend. The 200 Medley Relay team of Ryley McCarthy (Backstroke), Ava Eldridge (Breaststroke), Megan Sheehy (Butterfly), and Alexandra Mahon (Freestyle) kicked the swim meet off by swimming their fastest relay of the season with a time of 2:02.68, coming within one second of the school record. The 400 Free Relay team (Ryley McCarthy, Sadie Floyd, Alexandra Mahon, and Kayleigh McCarthy) swam their fastest of the season (3:53.98), placing 5th overall in Division 2, and claiming the school records for both Woburn and Burlington High Schools.
Other milestones include:
200 Freestyle: Kayleigh McCarthy, 2:04.68, 5th place
50 Freestyle: Sadie Floyd 25.85, 7th place
100 Freestyle: 5th place overall Kayleigh McCarthy 56.22 and 6th place overall Sadie Floyd 58.22
200 Free Relay team of Kayleigh McCarthy, Alexandra Mahon, Grace Davison, and Sadie Floyd: 5th overall
100 Backstroke: Ryley McCarthy 1:02.74, 4th place
The team came eighth place overall to end the meet.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY FINISHES SEASON AT CHAMPIONSHIP
Members of the boys cross country team competed at the D2 MIAA State Championship this past weekend. Top finishers from the race include:
47th place: Krish Almeida – 17:48.79
54 place: Roy Kanyike – 17:57.84
77th place: Ivan Ivanov – 18:22.75
