Red Devil Football Returns on Friday, September 10 at Varsity Field

Red Devil Football is getting ready to see fans again at Varsity Field this coming Friday. The team had a scrimmage against Lowell on Friday, August 27 at Cawley Stadium at Rizos Field. Burlington finished the match with a 24 to 18 win.

“It is great being back playing in the fall again it feels ‘normal’,” Head Coach Dan MacKay said.

MacKay also emphasized how pleased he is with the team’s performance during the offseason.

“I thought the team improved throughout the preseason and worked hard as well.”

With the opener just days away, the team is refreshed to do battle with their opponent the Lawrence Lancers.

“I’m looking forward to watching our student-athletes compete under the lights on Friday night again.”

Kickoff begins at the Burlington High School Varsity Field at 6pm.

Robert Parris is BCAT’s Sports and Features Reporter. Robert first got involved with BCAT in January 2016 as a volunteer news reporter. Throughout the year, as a volunteer, he was busy developing his technical skills at the studio and his ENG skills in the field. In the summer of 2017, Robert joined the team full-time. He quickly settled into his role, providing all of the production support for our news programs, as well as providing weekly sports highlights. Robert also produces a weekly feature for BNEWS, as well as a monthly show called, BNEWS Sports Hub, and BCAT’s Game of the Week.
