GIRLS BASKETBALL DEFEAT STONEHAM ON SENIOR NIGHT
The girls basketball team finished up the regular season with three wins this past week. Burlington won 44-32 on the road against Wilmington. Top scorers in the game were Erin Reilly with 12 points, Savanna Scali with 10 and Ava Sicari with 8.
The girls secured a big blowout win of 58-27 over Stoneham during Senior Night. Top scorers in the game were Merin Jones with 18 points, Madison King with 17 and Savanna Scali with 5. Five seniors were honored that evening: Charlotte Scola, Merin Jones, Gabby Colozzi, Madison King and Savanna Scali.
Burlington closed out the regular season in Malden on Presidents’ Day with a 61-51 win. Top scorers in the game were Erin Reilly with 15 points and Savanna Scali with 11.
The Devils finished with a 12-8 record in third place in the Middlesex Freedom League Division, with the 15-4 Wakefield Warriors in first, and the 12-8 Watertown Raiders in second.
BOYS BASKETBALL NAMED DIVISION CHAMPS
Burlington was named the Middlesex League Freedom Division Champs after a strong comeback against Wilmington last week. The Devils were down by 11 points in the second half, however they fought back to defeat the Wildcats 62-53. Top scorers were Anthony Gerrior with 16 points, Krish Soni with 11 and Ryan Ellis with 10.
The Devils celebrated Senior Night at home winning 59-45 against the Stoneham Spartans. Top scorers in the game were Matt Gray with 15 points, Leon Sekandi, Anthony Gerrior, and Justin Gray each with 10. Five seniors were honored that evening: Krish Soni, Anthony Gerrior, Windsor Muzoora, Jack Mercier and Jason Sheehan.
Burlington competed against Westford in the 3E Moving & Storage Roundball Classic. It was a close battle until the very end, but The Devils came away with a 52-50 victory. Top scorers in the game were Anthony Gerrior with 14 points, and Cole Shannon, Krish Soni and Justin Gray each had nine points.
Burlington finished on top at 14-5 in the Middlesex League Freedom Standings, with the 12-6 Watertown Raiders in second and the 12-8 Wilmington Wildcats in third.
Both basketball teams qualified for the post season tournament. The seeding will be released on February 22 and the games will begin next week. You can check out the seeding here
GIRLS GYMNASTICS HOST MIDDLESEX LEAGUE MEET
Girls Gymnastics hosted the Middlesex League Freedom Division Championship on February 10. Burlington finished in third place. The girls competed in four events, the Vault, Bars, Balance Beam and Floor Exercise. Top finishers from the event were Emelie Kim for first place in Vault, Bars and the Floor Exercise, and Hana Ly for first place in the Balance Beam.
DEVILS WRESTLING FINISH REGULAR SEASON IN WATERTOWN
Devils Wrestling finished their regular season on the road in Watertown on February 10. The team lost in a tight match up of 37 to 41. Individual winners included Max Shvartsman in the 106 weight class, Lukas Abreu in the 132 weight class, Cameron Bonnell in the 138 weight class, Noah Farrow in the 144 weight class, Connor McElroy in the 150 weight class, Davi Tonani in the 165 weight class and Josh Leavitt in the 215 weight class. The team will be competing at the state championship this coming weekend.
SHAY WOODBURY COMPETING IN STATE CHAMPIONSHIP THIS WEEKEND
Red Devil Swimmer Shay Woodbury was scheduled to compete in the State Championship on February 16, however due to inclement weather, it was postponed until February 22.
GIRLS HOCKEY WIN LOBSTER POT TOURNAMENT
It was a busy week for girls hockey. The team defeated the Wakefield Warriors at home in a 8-0 blowout. Goals in the game were scored by Emma Steiner with four, Chloe Rabazzi with three and Shayla Kocur with one. The win officially named Burlington the Middlesex League Freedom Division Champions!
Burlington had a huge 10-0 win on the road at Boston Latin Academy. Karliegh Weber had her first career varsity goal, while Chloe Rabazzi, Emma Steiner and Sophia Cleary each had two goals, and Shayla Kocur, Ava Ciccolini, and Caitlyn Tremblay each had one.
The Devils competed in the Lobster Pot Tournament at the Falmouth Ice Arena on February 17 and 18. They defeated the Boston Latin, 5-2 in the first round. Goals in the game were made by Emma Steiner with two and Cailtyn Tremblay, Shaya Kocur and Chloe Rabazzi all with one. They faced off against Falmouth next in the championship round. They defeated Famouth in a 7-1 blowout, becoming the 2025 Lobster Pot Champions! Goals in the game were scored by Chloe Rabazzi, Sofia Cleary and Ava Ciccolini with two and Caitlyn Tremblay with one.
Burlington leads the Middlesex League Freedom Division 13-6. The 11-8-1 Melrose Raiders are in second and the 7-11-2 Stoneham/Wilmington combined team are in third.
The Devils close out the regular season in Canton on Wednesday.
BOYS HOCKEY DEFEAT WILMINGTON IN A SHUTOUT
Burlington lost 2-3 against the Wakefield Warriors. Goals in the game were made by Aiden Scalia and Jake Robitaille. The Devils then defeated Wilmington 4-0 on Valentine’s Day. Goals in the game were scored by Nick Tulipano with two, Logan Nestor and Wyatt Condon each had one.
Burlington hosted the first round of the Ed Cahoon Tournament on Presidents’ Day. The Devils were defeated by Chelmsford 0-1 in the first round. They will compete with Medford in the consolation round on Wednesday afternoon.

BOYS INDOOR TRACK COMPETE IN MSTCA RISING CHAMPIONSHIP
Boys Indoor Track competed at the Massachusetts State Track Coaches Association Rising Championship on February 11. Here were the top finishers.

The Girls and Boys Indoor Track teams had a busy day at the MIAA Division State Championship on Valentines Day. Here were the top finishers from both teams.
