GIRLS BASKETBALL SEASON ENDS AT SOUTH HIGH
The Girls Basketball team won 45-37 against Lowell in the Preliminary Round of the Division 2 MIAA Playoff Tournament. Top scorers were Savanna Scali with 18 points and Madison King with 14 points. Burlingtons’ season ended in the next round with a 43-61 loss at South High Community in Worcester on March 1. Top scorers were Savanna Scali with 10 points and Merin Jones with 9 points. Congratulations ladies on an incredible season!
BOYS BASKETBALL DEFEAT CHICOPEE TO ADVANCE TO SWEET SIXTEEN
The Boys Basketball team will be moving on to the Sweet Sixteen round of the playoffs after a 70-52 victory against Chicopee Comprehensive School in the Round of 32 on February 28. Matt Gray took a hard foul shot from Chicopee player Xavier Kleps with only 50 seconds left in the game. After tempers flared from both benches, Kleps was ejected for throwing a punch. Gray had a great night offensively and was the top scorer with 32 points that evening. The Devils advance to the fifteenth seed, and will be on the road to face the second seeded 18-4 Mansfield Hornets on Tuesday evening. This game will be a rematch of last year’s Sweet Sixteen Round. The Hornets defeated the Devils last year 62-51.
SHVARTSMAN BREAKS BHS FRESHMAN WINNING RECORD AT ALL-STATES
Freshman Max Shvartsman competed at the MIAA All-States Wrestling Meet in the 106 wt. class on February 28. Shvartsman finished 2-2 on the day defeating Christopher St. Peter of Monument Mountain Regional and Lawson Giove of Whitman-Hanson. He also broke the BHS freshman winning record with 44 victories and ties for the team lead with 23 pins. Congratulations Max!
GIRLS HOCKEY ADVANCE TO ELITE EIGHT AFTER BACK-TO-BACK WINS
Girls Hockey had a huge 9-2 win against Beverly in the Round of 32 of the D2 MIAA Playoffs on February 26. You can watch the full game here. Caitlyn Tremblay, Chloe Rabazzi, Emma Steiner, Ava Ciccolini each had two goals and Sofia Cleary had one.
Burlington wreaked havoc in the Sweet Sixteen Round with a 5-0 shutout win against Pembroke on March 1. Chloe Rabazzi, Caitlyn Tremblay, Ava Ciccolini, Shayla Kocur and Sofia Cleary each scored a goal.
The ladies advance to the fifth seed and will compete in the Elite Eight Round against the 11-8-2 thirteenth seeded Medfield on Wednesday evening in Watertown.

The Boys Hockey season came to an end in the Round of 32 of the D1 MIAA Playoff Tournament after a 2-6 loss to Saint John’s Prep. Nick Tulipano and Ryan McWhinnie each scored a goal.
BOYS INDOOR TRACK REACH PERSONAL BESTS AT MSTCA PENTATHLON
James Mutyabi, Evans Katayomba and Arav Thikekar competed in the Massachusetts Track Coaches Association Boys Pentathlon on February 26. The athletes competed in multiple events: 55 Meter Hurdles, Long Jump, Shot Put, High Jump and the 1,000 Meters Hurdles. Each athlete performed at the highest level of their careers in the majority of events. Full results for each event are broken down below.
