Red Devil Spring Roundup: Softball Remains Undefeated With Win Over Arlington

SOFTBALL’S HOT STREAK CONTINUES
The softball team (11-0 overall) kept the streak going against Arlington High School with a 4-3 win on April 26. The Lady Devils had another shutout victory over Belmont, 12-0, on April 28. Burlingtons game against Woburn scheduled for May 2 has been postponed. The girls will host Westford Academy on May 4.

GIRLS/BOYS OUTDOOR TRACK COMPETED AGAINST WAKEFIELD
The girls (2-1 overall) and boys (3-0 overall) are had great performances again over Wakefield Memorial on April 24. The Lady Devils won 78-58 and the boys won 97-39. You can check out the full results for both teams by clicking here. Both teams will host Stoneham on May 3. 

BOYS VOLLEYBALL DEFEAT WOBURN
Boys volleyball (4-4 overall) returned to the court on April 25 at Woburn Memorial High School where they had defeated the Tanners, 3-1 in the sets. Burlington lost in a shutout of 0-3 on April 27 in Lexington. The Red Devils evened their record after a win over Salem, 3-1, on April 28. Wakefield Memorial will visit the Vanella Gym on May 2.

GIRLS LACROSSE GET HUGE WINS OVER STONEHAM AND WATERTOWN
Girls lacrosse (4-3 overall) were at the Marshall Simonds Middle School Brush Field on April 26 for a matchup against the Stoneham Spartans and then at Fillipello Park in Watertown on April 28. In both games the Lady Devils had dominant performances, with a 16-1 win over Stoneham and a 17-6 victory in Watertown. Originally, a game against Melrose was scheduled for May 1, but that game was postponed. Burlington will host Arlington High School on May 3.

BOYS LACROSSE WIN BACK TO BACK GAMES
Boys lacrosse (6-3 overall) had two games last week against Stoneham on April 26 and Watertown on April 28. In Stoneham, the Devils won the one-sided affair 17-3. When they returned home against Watertown at Varsity Field, Burlington won the game 19-6. They will travel to Peirce Turf in Arlington on May 3.

BASEBALL EVENS OVERALL RECORD
Boys baseball (5-5 overall) were in Arlington on April 26 for a matchup against the Spy Ponders. Burlington scored 13 runs in the 13-7 league victory. The Devils lost to Belmont High School on April 28 in a 3-5 defeat. Woburn Memorial High School is the next opponent on the schedule for Burlington on May 3.

GIRLS TENNIS DEFEAT WILMINGTON AND WAKEFIELD MEMORIAL
Girls tennis (5-4 overall) had a 4-1 win in Wilmington on April 26. Winners in the meet were senior Val Kin; junior Jules Piscatelli, and sophomores Sonali Patel,  Alessia Pedruzzi, Olivia Dubrava and Phoenix Mahoney. The ladies had a shutout loss to Arlington,0-5, on April 27. To start off May, the girls defeated Wakefield Memorial at Rahanis,4-1, on the first. Winners in the meet were Sonali Patel, Val Kin, Jules Piscatelli & sophomore Mason Alongi and Alessia Pedruzzi & Phoenix Mahoney. The game against Belmont is postponed, they will compete at home on May 4 with Woburn Memorial.

BOYS TENNIS WIN AGAINST
Boys tennis (4-3 overall) was back at home at Rahanis against Wilmington on April 26, where they team secured a 4-1 victory over the Wildcats. The meet against Arlington High School on April 27 was postponed. Burlington will host Belmont on May 2 at Rahanis Park.

UNIFIED BASKETBALL COMPETING AGAINST READING MEMORIAL
Burlington Unified Basketball (1-0 overall) had a game in Woburn on April 27. The results have not been posted. The Red Devils will be back at the BHS Vanella Gym on May 3 against Reading Memorial.
