Red Devil Spring Roundup: Volleyball and Softball Continue Win Streaks

BOYS VOLLEYBALL SHUTOUT WAKEFIELD MEMORIAL
Boys volleyball (2-0 overall) shut out Wakefield Memorial, 3-0, on April 4. Burlington will be back at home on April 11 against Winchester High School.

SOFTBALL REMAINS UNBEATEN
The softball team (3-0 overall) had a blowout win in Winchester 15-1 on April 3. During their home opener at Marvin Field on April 5, the Devils had a come-from-behind win, 5-4, against Reading Memorial.  Burlington continued  the streak in Lexington on April 10 after they had a one-sided affair, 8-2. The Devils will be at Fillipello Park on April 14 in Watertown.

GIRLS LACROSSE LOSES CLOSE MATCH IN WINCHESTER
Girls lacrosse (0-2 overall) started the season off at Knowlton Turf in Winchester on April 4. The Devils lost by three in the game 13-10. Burlington lost by four in the 12-16 loss in the home opener against Bedford High School on April 10.  The team will be on the road in Lexington on April 12.

BOYS LACROSSE WINS AGAINST BEDFORD
Boys lacrosse (1-2 overall) started the regular season at the Marshall Simonds Middle School brush field against Winchester on April 4, where the team scored three goals in the 11-3 loss. Seniors Koby Sloan had one goal and Jonathan Jay had two against Winchester. Burlington had no time to rest as they competed at Reading Memorial High School on April 8th, where they lost by five in the 11-6 defeat. Goals in the Reading game came from Sloan (1), Jay (1) and sophomores Charlie Hanafin (3) and Nolan Jennings (1).  The Red Devils got a W against Bedford,11-10, on April 10 at  Varsity Field. Burlington will remain at home  against Lexington on April 12.

BASEBALL GETS FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON AGAINST READING
Boys baseball (1-2 overall) were on the road at Reading Memorial High School on April 5. The Red Devils had a one-sided affair against the Rockets as they defeated their opponent 6-1. Burlington was back at Francis Wyman with Lexington High School on April 10 where the team lost 2-12. They will be in Stoneham on April 12 for a game against the Spartans.

GIRLS TENNIS WIN ON THE ROAD IN BEDFORD
Girls tennis (2-3 overall) were shut out, 0-5, in Lexington on April 5. Burlington secured a victory over the Bedford, 3-2, on April 7. Winners in the match were sophomore Sonali Patel in singles, junior Jules Piscatelli & sophomore Mason Alongi in doubles and sophomores Olivia Dubrava & Phoenix Mahoney in doubles.  The Devils won against Stoneham, 4-1, on April 10. Winners in the single matches were Patel and senior Val Kin. In the double matches winners were Jules Piscatelli and Mason Alongi, Olivia Dubrava and Phoenix Mahoney. The team will be on the road in Watertown on April 12.

BOYS TENNIS LOSES MATCHES AGAINST LEXINGTON AND BEDFORD
Boys tennis (2-3 overall) were shut out on April 5, 0-5, at Rahanis Park against Lexington. Burlington was at Bedford High School on April 7, where they lost 2-3 in their matches. The Devils shutout Stoneham, 5-0,  on April 10. They will host Watertown High School on April 12 at Rahanis Park.

GIRLS/BOYS OUTDOOR TRACK START SEASON AT VARSITY FIELD WITH MELROSE
The track teams started the season April 8 with a match up against Melrose High School at Varsity Field. The girls lost by three points in the 66-69 defeat. As for the boys team, they had a blowout victory of 104-32 over Melrose. You can check out the full results for the girls and the boys here.
