Ryan Marcassoli of the Class of ’24 made 458 assists, breaking a previous record held by Zachary Aloisi of the Class of ’23. And 2024 graduate Antony Mathew broke his own record from the previous year, making 258 kills, compared to his previous year’s record of 208.

GIRLS LACROSSE SEASON ENDS
The girls lacrosse teams’ season came to an end after a 12-3 loss to eighth-seeded Duxbury in the Sweet 16 Round of the Playoffs on June 5. Ten seniors have departed from the team: Charlize Collins, Elisabeth Delorey, Jillian Gillis, Caroline Russo, Abbey Blair, Anna Viglione, Ilex Fowler, Ashley Pinkham, Kate Crowe and Keira Storlazzi.

It’s not just the seniors who are leaving the team: Last week, Head Coach Katherine Boyle sent a resignation letter to BHS Athletic Director Shaun Hart, saying in part:

After much thought over the last few months, I have made the difficult decision to resign from my position as the head girls varsity lacrosse coach. I have loved every second of my time here at Burlington High School. As an alumni, I will always feel a deep connection to BHS athletics as this is where I spent a lot of my time. I have been very fortunate to coach all of the girls lacrosse athletes over the last seven seasons. It is now time to focus on my own family.

We would like to wish the best of luck to coach Boyle in her endeavors.

FALMOUTH ENDS BOYS LACROSSE PLAYOFF JOURNEY
The boys’ lacrosse season also came to an end after an 18-9 loss to 15th-seed Falmouth on June 7. Six seniors have departed from the team: Jackson Powers, James Ellis, Liam Welch, Trae DaMore, Mitchell DeVeaux and Charlie Andriolo.
