The candidates for the 21st Middlesex District seat are racking up endorsement with incumbent Ken Gordon (D-Bedford) receiving support from some key political figures in the state.
Gordon has been endorsed by Attorney General Maura Healey, who is running for Governor, Senator Ed Markey and Congressman Seth Moulton.
“Ken has been a great partner in the legislature, from protecting our LGBTQ+ community to standing up for workers’ rights,” AG Healey wrote. “He is a reliable teammate who cares about his constituents and the people of Massachusetts.”
“Ken has been a steady voice for the people, especially when it comes to issues affecting our climate and the protection of civil rights,” Sen. Markey posted. “He does his homework, and because of that he gets results.”
“Ken is a champion for working-class families in Bedford, Burlington, Lexington and the entire state,” Rep. Moulton wrote. “I know he’ll stand up for workers and families every day, and I look forward to continuing to work with Ken and fully support his re-election.”
Gordon has also been endorsed by the healthcare unions SEIU Local 509 and 1199SEIU Mass. as well as the Massachusetts-based Coalition for Social Justice and the Massachusetts based Coalition for Social Justice.
Challenger Timmy Sullivan (D-Burlington) has been endorsed by the Sierra Club and the Progressive Democrats of Massachusetts according to social media posts.
The two will face off in the September 6 State Primary for the Democratic nomination.
