At a recent meeting the Select Board approved 9 members to a Government Review Committee with 2 alternates. In March the Select Board began advertising for candidates to be part of a Government Review Committee and they received 14 applications over all. The charge of the committee is to evaluate and improve the town’s governance structure. Board members Sarah Cawley and Nick Priest selected candidates based on their knowledge of Burlington and on degrees of involvement in the community to create a balance of institutional knowledge and fresh voices.Â

The Government Review Committee meetings will be open to the public and the board asks for community involvement and fresh perspectives. The Collins Center will help guide the Government Review process which is expected to run for 12 to 18 months.Â
