Submissions for Library’s 2nd Annual Tiny Art Show Now Open

After a successful inaugural year in 2025, the Burlington Public Library’s Tiny Art Show is set to return next month. Participants are tasked with crafting a piece of art through any medium, that ties to the theme of the show, that can fit on a small 4″ x 4″ canvas and easel provided by the Library. Please note the Library is keeping the show theme a surprise until you pick up your supply kit.

“Last year’s Tiny Art Show was, ironically, one of our biggest hits.” says Daniel Barbour, Program & Marketing Librarian “We had a great crowd the moment kits went live and strong engagement throughout.”

This year’s contest is open to all ages, and participating artists will have even more time to craft their pieces.

“Over 30 adults submitted works and the results blew us away. Based on patron feedback, we’re opening it to all ages this year and distributing up to 100 kits. We’ve also doubled the submission time so people can really get creative with it, up to two weeks to complete your work vs. one week. There will be public voting again and a display in the Library all leading up to the awards show and reception in March.”

Submissions open on February 10 and close the evening of February 27. Those looking to enter a piece can pick up a supply kit at the Library (Children and Teen kits are available at Youth Services. Adult kits at the Reference Desk.) Please be advised supply kits are limited.

Pieces will be on display at the Library throughout the month of March and winners will be decided by both the public and a panel of judges. There will be a reception honoring all the art the evening of March 26. For further rules and guidelines, visit the library website.

I cannot wait to see what happens this year because the mystery theme is so intriguing—and it stays a mystery until you pick up your kit!”
