Town Wide Housing Needs Assessment Forum

The Burlington Housing Partnership Committee is hosting a Town Wide Forum on April 27th from 7:30-9:30.

They want to hear from you about your experience with housing in Burlington as a final step of their housing needs assessment. As reported by BNEWS, at the September, 2021 Town Meeting, members voted to approve the use of $30,000 of the town’s Affordable Housing Fund for an independent housing needs assessment, proposed by the Housing Partnership Committee.

“The Burlington Housing Partnership Committee is working on a Housing Needs Assessment to better understand our town’s housing goals and challenges. (Does Burlington have the types of housing it needs? Are homes affordable to buyers and renters alike? What can we do to address our housing challenges, both now and in the future?) Our partner the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) has been gathering data and resident input since last fall.” a notice from the partnership states.

At the forum, MAPC will present key findings from the data and ask forum participants to share their thoughts and experiences.Their final report will be published this summer.
