Two Promoted at BFD

Burlington Fire Chief Andrew Connerty was before the Select Board to recommend two Burlington firefighters for promotion in the department. 

Chief Connerty informed the board that they interviewed three candidates for each position and recommended the promotion of Lieutenant Michale Bibbey to the rank and responsibilities of Fire Captain and Firefighter Brendan Micciche to Fire Lieutenant.  

Micciche was a civilian dispatcher prior to becoming a Burlington firefighter for 16 years and has served as acting Lieutenant. Micciche is a certified driver and operator for both the pumper and aerial apparatus and carries a bachelor’s degree in Fire Science as well as many other attributes. 

Chief Connerty also highlighted Bibbey’s career who has been a firefighter for over 30 years, a Fire Lieutenant for 4 years, is a certified fire instructor and inspector and is pursuing a bachelor’s in Fire Science. Bibbey has also worked as a fire alarm technician.  

The Select voted unanimously to approve both promotions.
