Tuesday, August 8 at 6:30pm there will be a live virtual public informational meeting hosted by MassDOT. The proposed design for the Resurfacing and Related Work on Route 3A project in Burlington and Billerica, MA will be presented.
According to the MassDOT website the purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed Resurfacing and Related Work on Route 3A project. All views and comments submitted in response to the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.
The goal of this project is to improve safety throughout the Route 3A corridor. Bicycle lanes will be newly added to this roadway from the northern project limit to the intersection at Bedford Street. Sidewalk replacement and widening is proposed throughout the corridor in areas where the existing sidewalk is narrow or heavily damaged to create continuous accessible pedestrian facilities. Nine pedestrian curb ramps are being replaced as part of this project. The total project length is approximately 3.2 miles.
