Here’s a rundown of your Spring Sports as multiple teams season came to an end in the MIAA Playoff Tournament.
Girls Varsity Softball:
Girls Softball hosted the Arlington Catholic Cougars on Wednesday, June 23rd. Click here for the details on the matchup.
Boys Varsity Baseball:
Red Devil Baseball headed to Greater Lowell Tech on Friday, June 18 for the North Division II MIAA Playoff Tournament. Burlington had a tough time scoring and only garnered 2 runs. Greater Lowell went around the diamond 5 times. The final in the game was 5-2. The Red Devils end their season with a (3-10) record (including playoffs).
Girls Varsity Lacrosse:
Girls Lacrosse took on Lowell in the First Round of the North Division II MIAA Playoff Tournament at Varsity Field on Monday, June 21. With a temperature of 84 degrees and the humidity making it feel like 93 both teams were trying to stay cool in the heat. Lowell High managed to get passed Freshmen Goalie Ava Dupuis with 15 goals. Burlington finished the game with 11. Final in the game was 15 to 11 Lowell. The seniors that will be departing in the offseason are Kailey Frieden, Jennifer Lynch and Shannon Borbee. Burlington’s final record for the year is (10-2).
Boys Varsity Lacrosse:
Boys Lacrosse had a game against the Beverly Panthers on Friday, June 18 at Varsity Field. The Red Devils put in 12 goals against their opponent. Beverly only had two. The final in the game was 12 to 2 Burlington. The Red Devils will head to Reading on Monday Night June 18 for a match up with the Rockets in the Quarter Finals of the North Division II MIAA Playoff Tournament.
Girls Varsity Tennis:
Girls Tennis headed to Marblehead to face the Magicians on Monday, June 18. The Magicians ended their season with a three to two decision. Winners in the meet were Kacey Pustizzi and Liz Gillespie. Final record for the year was (10-2).
Boys Varsity Tennis:
Boys Tennis had a match against Wayland on Friday, June 18 at Rahannis Park in the North Division II MIAA Playoffs. Burlington lost the match 5 to nothing. Their final record for the year is (9-4).
Girls Outdoor Track Varsity:
Girls Outdoor track headed to the MIAA All State Championship. For the results of All-States click here
Boys Outdoor Track Varsity:
Boys Outdoor track headed to the MIAA All State Championship. For the results of All-States click here
Boys Varsity Wrestling:
Red Devil Wrestling had a home meet against Norwood in the District 2 Metro Sectionals on Monday, June 21 at Varsity Field. In the end, the Devils won the meet 46 to 33. In addition, the team was named the Metro Sectional Champs after the meet was over. They will be in the MIAA State Semi Finals on Tuesday, June 29 at Plymouth South.
Boys Varsity Swimming:
Burlington swimming had a meet on Saturday, June 12 against the Belmont Marauders at the North Suburban YMCA in Woburn. The results have not been posted at this time.
