White Ribbon Day began following the 1989 anti-feminist massacre of fourteen women at a university in Montreal Canada. Now, White Ribbon Day raises awareness of gender-based violence. Representatives of Lahey Hospital, the Burlington Police Department and state and local government gathered on March 7th to recognize White Ribbon Day.
